If your child is participating in the AR program at school almost any book you have at home can be used  with teacher permission for testing. To determine the book’s level go to www.arbookfind.com.  Select Parent and then enter the book’s name in the Quick Search. The book should come up. Review  the book level and ask the teacher if you can use the book. We hope this PTA paid for service is helpful and increases your child’s ability to read and comprehend.

Thank You From PTA!
Dear Golden Families:
What an amazing year!
I want to thank each of you for your generosity and hard work. This year, we raised more money and funded more programs and activities for our school than ever before. Parents and grandparents contributed over 9000 volunteer hours to Golden. Your commitment and support helped us to keep Golden strong during tough economic times. As a result of a successful year, we have been able to commit some surplus funds to buy a patio under the trees in front of the school. This large patio will prevent students from getting muddy in rainy times, allow easier pickups for the car line and prepare the area for wider use. In addition, we will be purchasing 8 new Dell computers, 8 monitors, 8 software packages and 8 warranties for use in the PODS.
We also have a need for a new school marquee. The present sign is deteriorating, hard to use and difficult to see. Due to the large cost, this will be a multi-year fundraiser. We have set aside some money this year to put toward this effort, and if we are able to fund all of our regular programs next year and have as successful a Jog-A-Thon as this year, we hope to purchase a dynamic 3 color LED electronic marquee.
I cannot emphasize enough how important both your time and monetary commitment is to our school. Times are very challenging, but the students benefit greatly from and appreciate all that you give.
